Today’s issue is brought to you by Anangsha Alammyan. In this issue, you’ll find 3 simple tweaks you can make to your writing immediately - so you become a much better writer in 2022.
I’ve been writing online for almost eight years and have successfully converted my passion into a full-time career.
I’ve also worked with numerous novice writers from all over the world. Based on my observations, there are a few qualities that distinguish an amateur write-up from a professional and well-polished article.
In this post, I’ll discuss the three most essential things you can do right away to enhance the quality of your writing.
1. Focus on the positive
You must ensure that whatever piece you’re writing doesn’t come off as a rant. The tone of the article is important because, even if it’s a personal story, the hero of your narrative isn’t you. The hero is the reader. You must have a strong understanding of what influence your words have on them.
One solid tip you might use as a checklist for your article is that: Leave the reader with optimism rather than fear or desperation.
Sure, some creators rely on “FOMO” or “fear of missing out” to put across their point. Nevertheless, I’ve noticed that pieces that leave the reader with a smile are the ones that perform the best. Although copywriters may disagree, I’m a strong believer in nurturing a community. I believe that the best way to attract more readers and have them return to your work frequently is to leave them feeling empowered.
You should use an emphatic tone and avoid pointing out any flaws the reader may have. The fact that none of us are perfect is one of the most fundamental aspects of being human. So, even if you’re writing an article to fix a problem, you should make it clear in your post that the reader understands the solution clearly.
Instead of focusing on the problem or the pain point, consider how your solution may assist them in overcoming it. This is a pretty subtle tweak, but trust me when I say that it will have an instantaneous immense positive impact on your content.
